Deep in the Heart of Texas!

Well hello again from my home state of Texas folks! As of this past December I’ve relocated and am super happy to be back here. As my friends know I grew up in San Antonio and have lived in almost all of Texas’ major cities. After two years in New York it is definitely good to be back on home soil.

Don’t get me wrong, I love New York. The city was just as vibrant and exciting as I expected it to be. In fact, I have to say I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would, and that’s always a plus, eh? But right now I need to be here so here I am. Wow, that’s either amazingly stupid or really deep. Just keep your opinion to yourself if you don’t mind. Thanks. :)

So what’s on tap for me in 2013? Well, my dad is recovering from a knee replacement operation that happened a day after his 75th birthday. I’ve been in charge of the rehab and its coming along well. I am starting to reach out to local Texas breweries, distilleries and wineries to shine some spotlight on them. I’m hoping to start up a lecture series here in Austin and San Antonio as soon as possible and of course various other projects all need attention. Oh, by the end of this year I plan on being back into homebrewing in a major way and I want to teach myself how to distill. Fun! All in all I’ve got a really full and exciting year ahead of me.

I hope everyone is as hopeful for their new year as I am and thanks for tuning in! Stay tuned for lots of reviews, interviews and other such silliness.
